The idea is to go beyond tradition images, to explore natural elements in 2 and 3 dimension thru use of the etching press.

I view these pieces as stretching the original print to achieve the multi-dimensions of texture and depth that exemplify my perception of nature.

The idea is to combine natural elements, leaves moss, sand etc., which I have found on my walks. I combine these natural elements with inked or drawn images on Plexiglas. Then it is my French Tool Press that helps me to create an image on 100% rag paper.

The majority of the piece is from these images that are created on the press. It is a construction because I work with several press-created elements to build the monotype.
